BCV Delegation - Article 24 Heures
Dear friends, Dear families,
From January 24th to 27th, a Swiss delegation made up of 9 members from the BVC (Banque Cantonale Vaudoise), 2 members of the Fair Future Foundation Board and a journalist from the biggest French-speaking newspaper in Switzerland, the 24 Heures, have joined us these few days, with our medical teams, in the field of our socio-medical actions. These were moments of rare intensity, days of festivals and celebrations too.
On 24th of January, we spent an evening together with the young people of the Fair Warung Bale by the Fair Future Foundation, the Foundation's social restaurant, where everything is possible. The members of the Swiss delegation were able to meet these 22 young people, who are and make the soul of the Foundation, and who thanks to their incredible work, offers us financial resources to treat tens of thousands of people each year for more 8 years now.
On the 24th of January, we received people whom for the most part we knew only by sight; On the 27th of January, we said goodbye to friends with their throats a little tight.
On the 25th of January, we spent the whole day at the foundation hospital, with a large part of the medical team, the doctors, the nurses, the laboratory team, pharmacy team, physiotherapy and all the others. Thus, the 9 employees of the BCV were able to see the work done thanks to the BCV 2018/2019 Solidarity Fund, of which the Fair Future Foundation was the lucky beneficiary.
On the 26th of January, we spent the day with them doing home care, as well as a social-medical action to care for about 350 children, including about 200 children orphaned by father and mother. The small team from Switzerland was able to observe and participate in another facet of our work, the medical care of proximities, those organized for large groups of sick people and the way medicine is practiced here in Indonesia.
Marie Nicollier, journalist "24 Heures" worked on the writing of the article that you can read here online (if you are subscribed) or so below in its .PDF version. The result of her work and the result of what Marie was able to observe during these three days together, of our exchanges, and of those Marie had with some of our collaborators. In one word: Magic. I just loved to read it, read it and read it again as soon as it appeared on the 24 Heures Online pages. Thank you Marie, from the bottom of my heart.
I would like to conclude by thanking heartfelt thanks to the eleven people who have been travelling from Switzerland for these three days of evaluation and observation, perhaps most of all for friendship. Thank them for their kindness, their ability to listen too.
Alexandre Wettstein – Founder, president of the Fair Future Foundation.
